This stolen from a series on the essential Final Fashion blog.
This is no cry for sympathy but I'm having my wisdom teeth out today (please direct all get well soon wishes and tips to the comments section). Aside from stocking up on butterscotch pudding, Kraft dinner and Tylenol 3s, I've been beefing up my style bookmarks to help pass five days of recovery.
In case you too find yourself housebound this winter (whether for dental reasons, snowstorms or plain laziness), may I recommend the following five sources of fashion and design distraction.
Come Up to My Room, Radiant Dark and the Interior Design Show all open in Toronto next week. Hype up your designer home sense with a visit to photographer Todd Selby's catalogue of annoyingly cool abodes.
Richard Haines' menswear scribbles are more inspiring for my wardrobe than any photographer's snaps.
The European menswear shows have wrapped. Couture is on the catwalk. And the rest of Fall 2009 is ready to hit the runway. Hallelujah! That means New York Times fashion critic Cathy Horyn is back to daily updates for the paper's On the Runway blog.
What's new on blogger/illustrator Danielle Meder's site? Five day a week updates including profiles of other bloggers and Fashion Illustrated Wednesdays when Meder posts a new sketch. It's my favourite Canadian click now that I'm 99% sure I've uncovered Auntie Fashion's identity. (Don't worry Auntie. I'll never tell. No matter how much laughing gas the dentist gives me.)
