Style Notes for November 28 to December 4

Maker’s mark

Get crafty with your gift buying this weekend at the Maker’s Cartel (makerscartel.com) pop up market at Creatures:Collective Gallery (822 Dundas West). The two day event (December 1 from 11 am to 8 pm and December 2 from 11 am to 6 pm) features finds like Le Petit Beret hats, sculptural Rune jewellery, Rachel MacHenry knits and art by Ashley Barron (pictured above). Cruda Café will also be on hand to keep shoppers well fed.

Dandy Dalston

Further west on Dundas, vintage shop Dalston Grey (1317 Dundas West, 416-840-5447, dalstongrey.blogspot.com) is kicking off the holidays this weekend (November 30 to December 2) with the launch of a bounty of giftable buys. In addition to the store’s standout retro clothing stock, there are also new finds including Gat Rimon cashmere sweaters and Bay Cooper neckties. Shop hours for the event are noon to 7 pm on Friday and Saturday and noon to 6 pm on Sunday.

Sloane pops up

It’s tea time at Commerce Court (25 King West) where Sloane Fine Tea Merchants (sloanetea.com) has just launched a three month pop up shop. In addition to 23 blends, the store is also selling sampler collections, gift boxes, tea infused truffles, cups and accessories. The store will be open through February 28, 2013.

Sale season is ramping up at Jonathan and Olivia (49 Ossington, 416-849-5956, jonathanandolivia.com) where you’ll find up to 50 per cent off deals on fall 2012 mercy.

If you’re on the jewellery hunt, check out designer Eliza Kozurno’s (elizakozurno.com) Studio Sale December 1 to 4 at 253 Dovercourt. We’re big fans of her fall necklaces, earrings and bracelets incorporating linked, jet black beads.
