Surreal ceramics

SIGNATURE PRODUCT In her short career, singer/songwriter/DJ-turned-industrial-designer Katherine Morley has already created a string of standout products. Look for her ceramic maple cookie pins, her porcelain bookends cast to resemble Group of Seven painter Lawren Harris’s Arctic icebergs and a new grouping called Freaksware, porcelain tableware shaped like circus sideshow performers.

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY “I always think better in a group,” says Morley, who shares her Queen and Bathurst studio with five other designers and artists. “They all inspire me daily with the quality of work they produce.” Other collaborations include co-curating the Gladstone’s Come Up To My Room design fair and membership in the Lemon and Joe & Josephine collectives.
