Like toilet paper, the umbrella was a sound design from its inception, with no dire need for improvements. But thanks to innovative – or bored – engineers, the Bright Night Umbrella ups the ante by placing a waterproof bulb within the sprockets, showering you with warm incandescent light – and guiding you safely into the arms of muggers, who’d otherwise probably miss you in the dark, gloomy night.
