The Queen West strip

Your best bet for being tricked into buying something designed in Toronto is the stretch of Queen West between Tecumseth and Trinity Bellwoods Park. That’s because stores like Pho Pa (which stocks Las Valentias and Snoflake), Delphic (which carries Krane menswear and Jaime Galindo jewellery) and Charlie Boutique (with its selection of pieces by Adrienne Butikofer and Foxy Originals) don’t pitch “shop local” as a main selling point.

Their buyers put style before patriotism, holding hometown designers to high standards and hanging them with great finds from across the country and around the world.

Of course, we also enjoy the clearly Canadian shopping experience at other boutiques on the block, including Fresh Collective, Comrags and Response.
