The week’s news, views and sales

Drake at The Bay

The Drake General Store (drakegeneralstore.ca) empire keeps expanding: its newest outlet has opened inside The Bay’s flagship store (176 Yonge). The pop-up space features a mix of contemporary design and salvaged finds laid out to spotlight giftable buys including the in-house clothing collection Shared. There are Father’s Day buys galore like a Wild & Wolf manicure set for $38, a stainless steel flask engraved with the words “To My Health” for $31 and backpacking cologne by Juniper Ridge for $99.

Loub launch

Paint your soles red (or buy an actual pair of Christian Louboutin heels) and get your tickets to the Design Exchange’s (234 Bay) opening party for their exhibition of the French designer’s footwear, running June 21 to September 15. The bash on June 20 includes a Shu Uemura makeup bar, lots of cocktails and the opportunity to schmooze in close proximity to the prince of pumps himself. Tickets are $175 through dx.org/louboutin.
