to make Caribbean Carnival Mask

Rating: NNNNN

It’s NOW summer craft time, kids. This week’s project, a plaster Caribbean Carnival mask, has five easy steps. Start by slathering your face with Vaseline then lay thin plaster strips dipped in water over the area that you’d like your mask to cover. Add three more layers and allow the mask to set. Remove the mask, allow it to dry completely and paint using acrylics in hot island colours. Cotton plaster strips, $6.95, Pebeo acrylic paints, $3.49 each, Nobel brushes, $1 each, all at Loomis Art Store (130 Spadina, 416-703-4748, and other).
