Whitney on The City
The weather outside is frightful and there's really no point wasting a morning in front of the mirror worrying about what you're going to wear underneath the endless layers of fleece and down that keep you from freezing up on the walk to the TTC stop.
Exercising our style interest in sub-sub-zero winter is best left to curling up with a new book (here's one shmata-related reading list, or be patient and review our picks in this Thursday's paper), or, even mind mushingly better, tuning in to some fashion television.
When we last left series star Whitney Port, she was part of The Hills queen Lauren Conrad's court of dillydallying Los Angelinos. Now, she's moved to New York and hooked up a "job" at Diane Von Furstenberg. We'd go one about her fabulous frenemy (Heidi who?) and grizzly love interest but the show recaps are best left to Amy Odell, blogger for New York Magazine's The Cut. Her tasty morning after The City dishes make up for the fact that MTV Canada leaves us after show-starved on this broadcast.
Closer to home (Ottawa to be exact), Global is revving up for the launch of Project Runway Canada on January 27. Study up for season two on a new website full of designer bios, audition clips and host Iman wearing a mop of hair that channels Little Orphan Annie auditioning for a back up singer spot on Beyonce's world tour.
