It's been holiday entertaining season at West Elm since the Liberty Village home decor store opened its doors in mid-October. We'd be annoyed by the extra-early rollout if we weren't so cheery about their sparkly stock of chic snow globes, candelabras made from nickel-plated tree branches and ornaments shaped like drops of mercury glass.
West Elm is part of the Pottery Barn and Williams-Sonoma family of design-savvy lifestyle spots. While its sister stores focus on a down-home look and tricking out a kitchen with an arsenal of culinary gadgets and gizmos, the trio's newest north-of-the-border offering has a more contemporary angle. Furniture, lighting and home textiles are modern and cozy, but accessories like oversized amber glass apothecary jars and acorn-shaped wood boxes earn maximum swoonage.
