Now into its 26th year, this venerable café/ lounge/performance space/pool hall has been at the forefront of the Queen West scene since it opened in 1982. It has also had a respectable pan-Asian lineup long before Spring Rolls and the like were ever conceived. Great curbside people-watching patio, too.
Best: to start, Siamese Wookie Balls, deep-fried sticky rice dusted with black and white sesame seeds and sided with sweet chili dip; Mandalay mussels steamed in green curry with coconut splashed with lime and served with garlic toasts; from the mains, teriyaki-marinated tofu over soba noodles; the legendary Rivoli burger topped with sweet caramelized onion; at brunch, grilled Atlantic salmon clubs stacked with double-smoked bacon, arugula and lemon aioli; to drink, lychee martinis; Singaporean Tiger beer.
Complete meals for $40 per person (lunches/brunches $25), including tax, tip and a glass of wine. Average main $16/$10. Licensed. Access: barrier-free.
