The Athens band attempts to fuse its trademark instrumental post-rock sound with elements of synth-pop and dance. But – despite some glowing reviews – the results are unfortunate. The songs come off sounding like a jam session by cock rockers on their first hit of ecstasy.
Despite their brevity, the songs are repetitive, wanky and almost impossible to differentiate. They make you yearn for the days before genre cross-pollination.
