Canadian Music Week to host start-up competition

Canadian Music Week is bringing back the start-up pitch competition Launch Pad next year.

The event will take place on April 19 at the Sheraton Centre Hotel and the prize will include a cash award, a one-hour meeting with each member of a judging panel of industry professionals and a 15-minute presentation during the festival and conference’s Global Creators Summit.

Last year’s winner was Kam Lal from Notetracks. The competition is open to music-connected start-ups in the early stages of development. Applications will be accepted until March 6.

Meanwhile, band submissions are open through December 29.

Apply via sonicbids.com/canadianmusicweek.

CMW runs from April 18 to 22.
