After snagging artist of the year at the Junos, misanthropic hairspiration the Weeknd is the most-nominated act at the MuchMusic Video Awards (MMVAs), with six nods including video of the year for Often.
Other GTA acts up for honours include Majid Jordan (video of the year), Death from Above 1979 (best rock/alternative video), Drake (most buzzworthy Canadian) and everyone in the best hip-hop video category: Tory Lanez, SonReal, P. Reign, Naturally Born Strangers and John River.
