Done with Kim Gordon’s book and not sure what to do with yourself until Sinéad O’Connor’s memoir drops in 2016? Why not pick up a copy of the Jim Guthrie biography written by Guelph-based author Andrew Hood and published by Invisible Press

Due out April 15, Jim Guthrie: Who Needs What recounts the singer/songwriter, video game composer and former Islands and Royal City member’s 20-year rise to cult hero status. The book also provides a nice primer on Guelph’s influence on Toronto’s indie rock scene of the early noughties. In addition to Guthrie, interviewees include Owen PallettTim KingsburyAaron RichesMark Goldstein and Brave New Waves host Patti Schmidt.
