When we first heard Katie Stelmanis’ new project Austra, we were convinced that she was going to have a big year in 2011. So far she’s only released released a 12″ single on Mike Haliechuk’s (of Fucked Up) label One Big Silence, but Pitchfork liked it so much they blogged about it both in November and December.
It looks like she’ll be getting a lot more attention soon though, as UK heavyweight indie label Domino has quietly picked her up, and is re-releasing her debut single, as well as putting out her long awaited full length album soon.
