ELLEN of madcap Welsh indie rock collective (and overseas members of the Arts & Crafts family) LOS CAMPESINOS, who blow the roof off the Horseshoe (370 Queen West) Tuesday (August 7). Free. 416-598-4753.
What's the best rumour you've ever heard about yourself?
The band is far too boring and uninteresting for people to start rumours about us. We hope for rumours! I keep checking gossip magazines, but have found nothing ? maybe you could start spreading one? Someone did suggest that the band was manufactured by a record company, which was pretty hilarious. We'd be far better looking as a collective if that was true.
What currently popular song do you never want to hear again and why?
The Way I Are by Timbaland, as it beat Kate Nash to number one in England, and her song is far superior. It also promotes illiteracy and general rubbishness.
Ever had a dream that became the basis for a song?
Unfortunately most of my dreams are recurring nightmares about the NesQuik bunny attacking me, and our songwriter Tom does not find that very inspiring. I think it would make a good basis for a song.
Which artist or artists would you love to collaborate with?
We love Canadian music, so someone from the Broken Social Scene family would be amazing, like Charles Spearin, who seems to play everything, and is also in Do Make Say Think. Owen Pallett would also be a bit of a bonus, but obviously we would have to kidnap them to make this possible which might be frowned upon.
What's your biggest regret?
When I was 14 I sold all my dad's old Star Wars figures in a school car boot sale. He wasn't happy due to sentimental reasons, and I'm not happy due to the fact they are now worth a lot more then the £2 pounds I sold them for.
