NECRO

Rating: NNN

Some things never change. Jay-Z’s at his best rhyming about drug dealing. Talib Kweli sounds best when he’s socially conscious. And Necro’s intense aggression will always make Eminem sound as menacing as Justin Timberlake on Punk’d. He’s still producing, writing and conceiving some of the sickest music available, and Death Rap captures the same ol’ Necro the kids know and love, with slightly declining instrumental impact.

But he’s still going straight to hell in a handbasket held by a severed hand. Featuring more heavy metal legends than ever before, Necro carves his name deeper into the rotting flesh of modern indie hiphop. His syllable gymnastics remain crazy, and one song is called Suffocated To Death By God’s Shadow. ‘Nuff said.
