Not Dead Yet

Earlier this week annual DIY hardcore punk fest Not Dead Yet announced its fifth edition, rolling out close to 30 participating bands.

Presented by local promoter Stuck In the City, the fest happens this year between October 22-25 across several venues throughout the downtown.

Who’s playing?

Barcelona’s Una Bèstia Incontrolable is one of the standouts in the list – especially as their appearance will be their only North American show this year.

Foundation’s show, meanwhile, will be their final Canadian show. Rixe are coming all the way from France, Power Trip from Texas and Title Fight from Pennsylvania.

Also giving you ear-splitting agresssion to thrash and stage-dive to: Boston Strangler (from Boston, duh), straight-edgers No Tolerance, Columbus’s Nervosas, local faves VCR and Stick Together to name just a few. The first-wave announcement list is here – and we expect to see a lot more local content when the complete lineup arrives in the coming weeks.

“The plan is the same [as previous years]: see what you want, skip what you don’t,” says Not Dead Yet’s press release. “No passes, no nonsense.”

Exactly the approach we want from a punk rock festival.
