To sum up the Dan Band in two words, I’d have to go with “amazingly ridiculous.” You might recall them as the wedding band from that Will Ferrell movie Old School, with their bizarre take on Total Eclipse Of The Heart. On Live, crooner Dan Finnerty and company go through a catalogue of 80s and 90s female pop from En Vogue to Salt-n-Pepa to Britney Spears. This would be easy to write off as a bunch of dudes just taking the piss out of some old radio hits, but Finnerty sings with the passionate conviction of a karaoke champion with his life on the line.
The Dan Band rocks the Opera House Wednesday (July 27).
