Before anyone took the stage this weekend (July 4-6), Collective Concerts owner Jeff Cohen kicked off TURF with an impassioned speech aimed at the barriers that prevent outdoor concerts from happening downtown.

“This is not just about culture and music,” he said. “This is about a political process about convincing a whole bunch of the councillors in the city of Toronto … that instead of saying ‘no’ to outdoor concerts in downtown toronto, the answer should be ‘yes!'”
