Troubled Templar Hotel goes up for sale

The boutique hotel where Drake shot photos for his Views album is for sale.

The 27-suite, eight-storey luxury hotel at 348 Adelaide West is being auctioned off under power of sale. Core Consultants Realty Inc., which represents holding company CVC Ardellini Investments, is accepting bids no later than July 29.

The hotel, which opened in 2012, has been a fixture during the Toronto International Film Festival, and its restaurant, Parcae, hosted Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Dwyane Wade and Carmelo Anthony during the NBA All-Star Game in February.

According to a Toronto Star article published in May, the hotel’s mortgagor, the Templar Hotel Corporation, declared bankruptcy in May 2015 with more than $40 million in liabilities.
