And then a hero comes along?

Looking for a way to help that woefully underappreciated folk musician in your life take his or her career to the next level? You’re in luck: the 11th annual Canadian Folk Music Awards have put out a call for nominations for their Unsung Hero award.

To qualify, nominees “must be perceived as an unsung hero,” i.e., have received little media coverage or public recognition for their work. The deadline for submissions is July 31, and the winner will be announced in late August.

The awards presentation takes place in Edmonton from November 6 to 8. The full list of nominees will be announced September 10.
