The Toronto Humane Society is partnering with Amazon in a $100,000 collaboration to support the organization’s adoption program.
On Wednesday, the humane society announced Amazon as the Adoption Program Title Sponsor where the e-commerce company will assist the society in helping animals their forever homes.
The sponsorship, which is valued at $100,000, will support the humane society’s adoption program until 2024.
“This collaboration represents a shared commitment to the well-being of animals and the belief that every pet deserves a loving home,” Phil Nichols, CEO at Toronto Humane Society, said in a statement on Wednesday. “Amazon’s generous support will significantly contribute to our efforts in providing a brighter future for animals in need.”
By collaborating with the humane society, Amazon aims to create a positive impact on communities and promote the well-being of animals by participating in the adoption process and promoting responsible pet ownership.
“As the Title Sponsor for Toronto Humane Society’s Adoption Program, we are thrilled to be a part of the transformative journey that brings joy, companionship, and forever homes to countless furry friends,” Omar Syed, Head of Pets at Amazon, said in a statement.
Adopting a pet includes several steps to ensure both the adopters and pets are a good match. The adoption process begins with a search for a pet on the Toronto Humane Society’s website. Then you get set up with an Adoption Counsellor where they’ll learn more about you and what type of pet you’re looking for. Next is a meet and greet where you’ll get to meet the animal and learn everything about them. And then lastly, the adoption is finalized.
