Bridge over Fort York

A pedestrian and cycling bridge connecting the west end of Fort York over the tracks to Bathurst and Strachan may be one step closer to realization.[rssbreak]

The city’s Pedestrian Committee received plans Tuesday (September 22) for an S-?shaped, arched number modelled on something between the Jiak Kim Bridge in Singapore and Gateshead Millennium in the UK. Check the pic.

A final environmental study still needs to be done.

The goal: to open the bridge in time for bicentennial celebrations planned in 2012 to commemorate the War of 1812.
