The CNE Job Fair is returning this week, giving thousands of job seekers another chance to land seasonal work before the Canadian National Exhibition opens next month.
The annual hiring event will take place Wednesday at the Enercare Centre, where employers will be looking to fill hundreds of positions ahead of the CNE, which runs from Aug. 21 to Sept. 7.
The fair hires more than 5,000 workers each year. According to organizers, more than 49,000 online applications have already been submitted this hiring season, and more than 1,300 positions have already been filled.
However, hiring is far from over.
Job seekers who attend Wednesday’s event can apply for a wide range of roles, including cashiers, retail associates, game attendants, food service workers, cleaning staff, midway operators and information guides.
This year’s hiring fair has expanded to include more than 720 available positions, with candidates of all experience levels encouraged to apply.
Last year, the hiring event drew a record 54,000 job seekers amid a nationwide youth unemployment crisis.

More employers beyond the CNE
This year’s job fair is also expanding its partnerships to connect job seekers with employment opportunities beyond the 18-day fair.
The CNE has partnered with organizations including Metrolinx, the Royal Ontario Museum, the YMCA of Greater Toronto and the Toronto Port Authority to offer additional career opportunities.
Organizers say attendees can explore roles such as museum tour guides, promotional ambassadors, bus station attendants, bus drivers, and skilled trades positions, including welders, mechanics and marine engineers.
Free career resources and headshots
The event will also feature employment services through partnerships with the City of Toronto, giving attendees access to resume-writing support, interview preparation, career guidance, networking opportunities and job training resources.
In addition, the CNE will offer free on-site professional resume headshots. Photos will be taken digitally by a CNE photographer and sent directly to participants’ personal devices, including smartphones.
Registration through the CNE website is strongly encouraged, although walk-ins will be accepted, subject to venue capacity.
