Silk Oasis On The Silk Road: Bukhara Curator Natalia Nekrassova, who gave us Fashionably Wrapped, last year’s scholarly show about Kashmir shawls, puts together what’s sure to an informative exhibit of ikat textiles and embroideries from Central Asia. The beautiful, large-scale, wavy-edged patterns in Bukhara ikats, made by tie-dying threads before weaving, represent a pinnacle of the dyer’s and weaver’s art.
