Anne Hathaway is the least misérable thing in Les Misérables.
Don't let the lack of snow or cheer fool you: it's holiday season. And as perennial as the winter snow is (or used to be, anyway) the holiday season means film distributors are rushing to cram year-end releases into cinemas. Sometimes it's a yard-sale of junk being sold off before the close of the fiscal year, sometimes it's plum-position Oscar bait trying to sneak in before the deadline closes, and sometimes it's just big, blockbuster-y titles vying for the coveted December 25 opening spot. Anyway, this year sees a bunch of that stuff, from Judd Apatow's new This Is 40 to the Thai tsunami disaster flick The Impossible (starring Naomi Watts, this issue's cover girl).
