Just in time before Toronto's outdoor pools close Aug. 31, some mysterious scamp who goes by Randy has started circulating Randy's Guide to Pool Hopping, a guide to how to break into popular outdoor pools after hours.
Not that we condone illegal behaviour or anything, but the guide is both cheeky and useful to late night urban adventurers. In addition to recommending escape routes and strategies should any law enforcement show up, it outlines the height of the fences around Alexandra Park Pool (Dundas and Bathurst), Kiwanis Pool (O'Connor and Woodbine) and Alex Duff Memorial Pool (Christie Pits).
"These specific pools were chosen because of their ease of entry, escape, and enjoyability," Randy says. "Additionally, each pool is in a different part of the city - the east end, west end, and downtown - so we cover everybody who wants to try out this adventurous pastime. Lastly, I included points of interest like soccer fields because nothing's better than playing sports with friends then taking a dip afterwards to cool down on a summer night."
