Once in a while, a story comes around that’s so monumentally important that it simply demands to take a coveted spot on the cover of NOW Magazine. Then Rob Ford does something and we reshuffle priorities accordingly. Undaunted, we want to fight any onset of Ford fatigue by unearthing our podcasting equipment (i.e. a laptop) and digging into the real issue: just what is the deal with that Carly Rae Jepsen character? The voice behind “Call Me Maybe,” the earworm of 2012 bar none, has plenty of detractors. Even weirder, she has at least one supporter, in the form of NOW Music Editor Benjamin Boles. In this week’s podcast, Boles and Senior Entertainment Editor Susan G. Cole square off in NOW vs. NOW fashion to debate the merits (or lack thereof) of the 27 year-old pop star.
