Most Canadians have a soft spot for Tim Hortons, but Premier Doug Ford in particular may be the biggest fan of all following the release of his latest Tim Hortons commercial.

In a video posted to Twitter Monday, the premier shared an advertisement about the return of Tim Hortons’ annual Smile Cookie campaign.

“Friends, it’s that time of year again. This week from May 1st to the 7th, head over to your local Tim Hortons, pick up a smile cookie, 100 per cent of the proceeds goes to local charities and organizations. So, now is a time to enjoy a tasty treat and support some good causes…,” Ford said.

It wasn’t that long ago when Ford posted his last ad for the brand last month on April 6. The premier posted photos of him making his own breakfast sandwich alongside the Tim Hortons team.

In a tweet, he said, “Today, I got a chance to roll up my sleeves and learn how to make some iconic items off the @TimHortons menu. Thank you to the entire team for having me by and for teaching me a few new skills, including how to make my very own breakfast sandwich with real eggs!”

Ford also promoted the same sandwiches and smile cookies back in 2021.

Ford’s periodic promotion has a way of drawing online users to his comment section. This time around, users pointed out what the premier should be doing instead of endorsing the chain.

Others say Ford must be Tim Hortons’ employee of the month by now.
