Many regions across Ontario are bracing for the first significant snowfall of the season which is also likely to impact the City of Toronto.

Environment Canada has issued weather warnings and alerts for a large swath of the province that include areas located north of the Greater Toronto Area.

A Snow Squall Watch has been issued for the northern York Region area that warns of snowfall totals between 10-30cm beginning tonight into Tuesday.

Further north into the Barrie-Collingwood area, a Snow Squall Warning is in effect that is predicting up to 35cm of snow by tomorrow morning.

The City of Barrie has declared a Winter Maintenance Event for tonight and Tuesday in response to the oncoming winter storm. This means no vehicles can park on streets during certain time periods in order to allow crews to clear snow from city streets.
