Toronto’s Rogers Stadium is officially out of commission until future notice, abruptly ending the 2026 summer concert season on an underwhelming note.
Last Wednesday, the city was hit with a heavy storm that caused extensive damage to the concert venue, with photos online showing ripped out seats, flooding, and debris scattered across the grounds.
Due to the damage, the upcoming AC/DC concert on Sept. 16 at Rogers Stadium has been cancelled. All tickets purchased by fans through Ticketmaster will be refunded automatically. Fans who bought resale tickets should contact their point of sale for refunds.
In a statement to Now Toronto, Wayne Zronik, president of business operations at Live Nation Canada, says the company’s focus is on completing repairs so “Rogers Stadium is ready to welcome fans back with confidence next season.”
“We’ve had an incredible summer at Rogers Stadium, and while this isn’t how we wanted the season to end, safety for fans, artists and employees will always come before any individual event.”
Live Nation Canada did not provide an exact timeline for when repairs might be completed.
However, after a thorough assessment by its engineers in coordination with the City of Toronto, Live Nation confirmed that sections of the bleachers damaged by the unprecedented storm will need to be “removed and rebuilt.
“Last week’s storm was an extraordinary weather event. A suspected microburst in the area with extreme winds and heavy rainfall made it a 100-year storm for Toronto,” Kevin Mahoney, Rogers Stadium’s on-site meteorologist says in an update. “It’s clear by the extreme intensity of the storm that this was exceptional for the region, and forensic meteorological analysis is ongoing.”
The cancelled AC/DC concert was the Roger Stadium’s final hurrah for the 2026 concert season. Currently, the venue will reopen in May 2027 for British pop star Harry Styles, who will be performing on May 7 and 8.
