The time has come for one of Toronto’s biggest annual events, as the Royal Agricultural Winter Fair returns to Exhibition Place for 10 days, kicking off Friday, Nov. 6.
Celebrating its 104th year, the Royal will take over the Enercare Centre and Coca-Cola Coliseum from Nov. 6 to 15, bringing together Canada’s agricultural community, international equestrian talent and thousands of visitors.
Recognized as one of the world’s largest indoor agricultural and equestrian events, the fair showcases Canada’s farming industry while giving visitors an opportunity to experience everything from livestock exhibits and animal demonstrations to live entertainment and competitive horse shows.
Among the biggest draws is the Royal Horse Show, which brings together top equestrian athletes from around the world for 10 days of competitions, impressive jumps and displays featuring a variety of horse breeds.
This year’s lineup will also feature plenty of other attractions and activities, including the Royal K9-Equine Challenge, square dancing, a Dairy Education Centre, the Animal Theatre, a mechanical bull, the OLG Entertainment Stage and a Holiday Market.
The Royal Rodeos will also return, showcasing bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback competitions featuring riders from across the country. Canadian actress Amber Marshall, best known for her role in Heartland, will serve as emcee.
Another event to look out for is the Royal K9-Equine Challenge, which pairs an international equestrian athlete and their horse with a SuperDog. The horse and dog each navigate their own obstacle course, with the team recording the fastest combined time taking the win.
Visitors looking to catch some live music can also head to the OLG Entertainment Stage, which will host performers across a range of genres, from country and classic rock to pop.
This year’s lineup includes Craig McRae, Kristin Nicholls, Jade Hilton, Peter Peres, Kelly Davies, Zack Erickson and Nick Bordman.
The fair will run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays and Mondays.
General admission tickets and tickets for the Royal Horse Show are available online through the event’s website.
