Seven years in the bag

Is the recession making it tough to afford presents for your loved ones?

Toronto label Paper Bag (who won Best Local Label for the second year running from the NOW critics) has a solution for you. Available for free download from their site, they’ve put together a quirky collection of cover versions called the Seven Year Itch, just in time for their upcoming seven year anniversary.

Ever picture synth-rockers Woodhands covering Eddy Grant’s Electric Avenue, indie-folk band the Acorn reworking Gowan’s Strange Animal, or experimental rockabilly cat Slim Twig taking on Outkast’s Behold A Lady? Yeah, neither had we, but that doesn’t mean it’s not a good idea. Early contender for weirdest Christmas album of the year.[rssbreak]
