Nearly 750 participants dipped their paddles in the Don River this Sunday for the annual Paddle The Don event, now in it’s 20th year. Beginning at Ernest Thompson Seton Park, the paddlers were addressed by Ontario Premier Kathleen Wynne before making their way via canoe and kayak down the Don to the Keating Channel. There were three portage points along the way, two for those brave enough to shoot the last set up rapids. The trip provides a unique perspective of the river and valley while promoting environmental clean-up efforts.
