If this DVD release proves anything about this 60s band, it’s that their folksy psychedelic tunes don’t hold up that well 25 years down the road. Filmed during their 1994 reunion tour, both Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi look and sound way past their prime, mostly because they are. Sure, they run through their biggest hits, like Low Spark, Pearly Queen and John Barleycorn, but even Jerry Garcia can’t save them when he joins in for Dear Mr. Fantasy. The cinematography is also baffling. Changing camera angles every two seconds gets you dizzy in a hurry, and the “on the road” montages and backstage ballyhoo make you wonder what the fuss was about.
