The Toronto Blue Jays just dropped a new “night mode” team uniform and fans across Canada are reacting to the fresh design.
Canadian actor Simu Liu introduced the uniform, which was released as part of the City Connect campaign, in a promotional video on the baseball team’s social media on Thursday.
“How do you explain a city like Toronto?” Lui begins.
“Well it’s not easy, but if you’ve been here, you get it,” he continues.

Toronto’s vibrant nightlife inspired the look of the navy jersey which boasts pops of light blue and red around the sleeves and neckline, alongside a cap in the same colour way.
A graphic of the city’s distinct skyline ties the design together in the centre of the chest.

“THESE ARE GAS,” one person wrote on X.
‘These are absolutely amazing. I want one. LFGGGGG,” another user wrote,’
“These are such a home run,” one fan responded.
Players even responded to the drop.
“We’ve got one of the best skylines out there, so I think that putting it on the jersey is a really cool touch. We’ve got some water down there, too, so there’s Lake Ontario and the skyline. I like the colours. It’s cool to me,” Jordan Romano said.
“My favourite colour is pink. You can put red and pink together. That’s why I like it.,” Vladimir Guerrero Jr said.
The Jersey pays homage to Toronto’s nightlife and the city’s many after-hour activities..
“There is definitely a lot of different options in the night life around the city. It’s good to live in a place where, if you choose to and you want to partake, you have plenty of options. Toronto does know how to have fun, and we experienced a little bit of that when we were here,” Former Blue Jays star José Bautista said in a press release.
The uniform also has some intricate features that aren’t visible from a distance.
Inside the cap, the Toronto skyline is embroidered and along the collar of the jersey it reads “Diversity is Our Strength,” which is the slogan from Toronto’s coat of arms.
The City Connect Uniforms are available now at the Jays Shop. Merchandise will also be available to purchase online.
The Jays will debut the jerseys at Friday night’s series opener against the Pittsburgh Pirates at the Rogers Centre.
They’ll continue to wear them throughout the season at night games on the following dates:
- June 3, 5, 17, 19, 28
- July 3, 19, 24
- August 8, 21, 23
- September 13, 23, 25
