One thing about Canadians, they love a Double Double!
According to coffee shop chain Tim Hortons, in 2024 the most ordered coffee at their Canadian locations was the famous Double Double, consisting of a coffee with two sugars and two creams.
Meanwhile, the most popular cold drink was the Iced Capp, which celebrated its 25th birthday in 2024 after first hitting the menu back in 1999.
Speaking of birthdays, Tim Hortons celebrated its 60th anniversary by releasing a special menu featuring four retro donuts, including the Blueberry Fritter, Cinnamon Sugar Twist, Dutchie, and Walnut Crunch flavours.
Of the retro offerings, the Walnut Crunch was the most popular across most of Canada, followed closely by the Dutchie donut, especially in Atlantic Canada, where customers bought nearly three times more Walnut Crunches than Dutchies.
Back in January, the chain once again added omelette bites which come in various flavours, the most popular of which was the bacon and cheese option.
Among the chain’s regular offerings, the Apple Fritter was once again the most popular donut at Tim Hortons. This comes after it kicked Boston Cream donuts out of the top spot back in 2023. However, the cream-filled donuts are still the most popular among guests in the Maritimes provinces, while Honey Crullers are the most popular Tim Hortons’ donut in Quebec.
When it comes to smaller snacks, the Chocolate Glazed Timbit was the most-ordered Timbit nationwide.
In 2024, Tims’ customers helped raise $44.1 million through charitable initiatives like the Special Olympics Donut, Smile Cookie, Camp Day, Orange Sprinkle Donut, and Holiday Smile Cookie campaigns.
As for a Timmies Run using the app, hot drinks were the most popular order, while hot coffee was the most popular item users chose to redeem points for from their Tim Rewards account.
Meanwhile, the most popular order for the chain’s delivery service was four coffees.
The coffee chain also added some brand new items to their menu last year, including the Tims Flatbread Pizzas which were released in April, with pepperoni coming in as the most popular flavour, followed by the chicken parmesan option. Tims also launched its Infusr energy beverages in July, with blackberry yuzu ending up as 2024’s most popular flavour.
