Top 10 NOW Tube Performances of 2012

This year, NOW Tube was all over town, catching performances and conducting interviews with a range of talented musicians. These were our favourites of the year, as chosen by NOW Tube producer/videographer/interviewer/camera operate Graeme Phillips.

8. Maylee Todd At Hillside Festival

I’d vote Maylee Todd as Toronto’s entertainer of the year. This video shows a slice of how come. Full of bouncy energy and backed by a powerful, soaring voice and a super tight band, Todd gives it all every time out.

7. Kid Koala at The Hoxton and 918 Bathurst

Kid Koala has to be one of the most unique entertainers in music. And he showed us why with both his Space Cadet Headphone tour and puppet and dancer filled Vinyl Vaudeville Tour.

6. Zeus At Sonic Boom Records

It was elbow room only at Zeus’ raucous performance to cap off Sonic Boom Records Record Store Day lineup

5. Rich Aucoin at The Drake

Shout out videos, confetti, sing-alongs, dance-alongs, giant parachutes and so much more. Rich Aucoin shows everyone how to put on one hell of an entertaining show.

4. Cold Specks At Hillside Festival

Cold Specks took the world by storm in 2012. Here she takes a packed Hillside crowd to new musical heights.

3. Corin Raymond & The Sundowners At Tranzac

Brilliant Toronto singer/songwriter Corin Raymond hatches a plan to make a record funded entirely by Canadian Tire money donations and gets a response he never could have imagined. Watch him make it rain paper nickels at the Tranzac.

2. Bahamas Live At NOW Lounge

Bahamas brings his beautiful record “Barchords” to life at an intimate show in our very own Lounge.

1. Flaming Lips at Yonge and Dundas Square

Psychedelic freak rockers Flaming Lips invade Yonge and Dundas Square for a NXNE show for the ages. There will never be as many ballons flying around the square again till the end of time. End of contest.
