The last weekend of August has snuck up on the city, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t a slate of events for Torontonians to check out.
Environment Canada reports a sunny weekend for the city, with highs of up to 28 C. If you need more structure than a beach day, or are looking to try different cuisines under the sun, the city has a few events going on that are sure to quench your summer thirst.
Here’s how you can enjoy the heat, or cool off indoors.
Friday, Aug. 28
FAN EXPO Canada
- Metro Toronto Convention Centre, 255 Front St W
One of the biggest fandom events is returning to Toronto this weekend, bringing thousands of sci-fi, comic, anime, and horror fans to the convention centre. Attendees can dress up as their favourite characters, enjoy interactive panels with key speakers and actors, shop and extensive vendors’ market, and even meet major celebrities behind their biggest roles.
Tickets are still available, and Torontonians can choose events to attend throughout the entire weekend.
Toronto TAIWANfest
- Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay W
Enjoy a weekend-long celebration weaving together both Taiwanese and Scottish cultures. Attendees can expect to listen to live music, with performances by the acclaimed Taiwanese Indigenous trio, the Nanwang Sisters, as well as the high-energy indie rock queer band P!SCO, and award-winning Taiwanese indie band Zixuan & Slow Train. There will also be discussions on identity, heritage reclamation, and history for those wanting to learn more, as well as hands-on craft workshops, an Artist Market to browse, and multiple walk-through cultural exhibitions. This free event is open to all.
Date Night at the Museum
- Arcadia Earth, 486 Front St W, Building C
Calling all couples! The multi-sensory, immersive art exhibition Arcadia Earth is holding a date night for those looking to bring romance to the next level. Attendees will step into an immersive after-hours experience with art, entertainment, food, and drinks taking over the night. A live DJ, a photo booth, and a welcome drink are all in store for couples attending the night.

Saturday, Aug. 29
Grab a Coffee with Chris McMillan
- Ratelier, 9 Trinity Park Ln
Torontonians can stop by this activation and receive a complimentary styling touch-up, as well as a custom coffee experience. The event brings the Ratelier studio and brand to life, allowing guests to have the unique chance to meet legendary celebrity hairstylist Chris McMillan and his styling team.
Stackt Market Kreate Market

Enjoy the weather with an afternoon of shopping. Discover unique handmade products, enjoy brunch-friendly bites, and connect with local vendors and the community at this street market. Visitors will experience a curated mix of new and returning vendors at this annual event, as well as handmade and small-batch products, food and snacks, and a welcoming atmosphere for friends, families, and local shoppers.

Toronto Comedy All Stars

Attendees can laugh out loud at Toronto’s best-selling comedy show, with comedians seen on Netflix, Prime, Hulu, Crave, Just For Laughs, and CBC. The show brings talented, driven, and hungry comedians to one stage, giving Torontonians a chance to enjoy their stand-up while they’re still affordable. Sunday, Aug. 30
Caribbean Street Food Festival 2026
- Riverside Common Park
African drumming meets steel pan playing at this free-to-attend food festival! From dancing to games to food and community, this Caribbean cultural festival has it all. Guests can test their knowledge of the islands by competing in Jeopardy: Caribbean Style, or Family Feud: Island vs. Island. Soca, calypso, and reggae music will also be livening up the streets, so be sure to check out this event. Guests who sign up through the eventbrite page have the chance to spin a wheel for prizes!
Glad Day’s Queer Artist Market

Support queer & trans artists with this arts and crafts market hosting over 70 vendors that will make sure you don’t leave without buying something you fall in love with. From crochet pieces to paintings to other knick-knacks, there’s something for everyone.

AFC Toronto vs. Ottawa Rapid FC

AFC Toronto will face off in a home game against Ottawa Rapid FC. The high-stakes Northern Super League match will kick off at BMO Field. Anyone looking to catch the game is also able to enter the CNE fairground for free on the same day, giving them a two-in-one ticket experience.
