Toronto is in for a mild final weekend of summer before cooler, below-seasonal temperatures arrive just as fall officially begins next week.

The last weekend of summer is looking relatively comfortable, with temperatures reaching around 21 C on Friday and Sunday, while Saturday will be a bit cooler with a high near 18 C.

Friday is expected to be mainly sunny, while Saturday and Sunday could bring a mix of sun and clouds. Overnight temperatures will dip into the low teens.

But the weather takes a cooler turn as the seasons change.

Fall officially arrives on Tuesday, Sept. 22, and the first week of the new season is expected to bring below-seasonal temperatures to Toronto.

According to forecasts from The Weather Network, daytime highs are expected to generally remain in the mid-to-high teens through much of the week, while overnight temperatures could fall to the low teens.

Monday will see a mix of sun and clouds with a high around 17 C, setting the stage for a cooler start to fall. Tuesday is expected to be similarly cool, with temperatures around 17 C.

The unsettled weather could continue into Wednesday and Thursday, with showers possible and temperatures remaining around 17 C during the afternoon.

By Friday, temperatures could climb slightly, reaching around 19 C, with a mix of sun and clouds expected.
