The calendar is inching toward September, but Toronto’s forecast is keeping things warm, with highs in the upper-20’s through the final days of August.
The city is heading into the last week of August with a mix of clouds, sunshine and a few chances of showers, while temperatures remain in summer territory.
According to Environment Canada, Tuesday will be mainly cloudy with a high of 25 C, followed by partly cloudy skies overnight and a low of 15 C.
Wednesday is looking like the week’s standout summer day. The forecast calls for sunny skies and a high of 26 C, although the humidex could make it feel closer to 31.
So if you’ve been waiting for another beach day, patio afternoon or park hang before September arrives, Wednesday could be a good opportunity.
However, the sunshine won’t last all week.
Thursday is forecast to be cloudy with a 40 per cent chance of showers, with a high around 26 C. There’s another 30 per cent chance of showers Thursday night. Anyone going to an outdoor concert or event should dress accordingly.
Friday will bring a mix of sun and cloud, along with a 30 per cent chance of showers and a high around 25 C.
Saturday currently looks like another decent day for outdoor plans, with a mix of sun and cloud and a high of 25 C.
As August gets closer to its final weekend, though, clouds become more dominant. Sunday is expected to be cloudy with a high of 26 C.
And on Monday, Aug. 31, the final day of August, Toronto is forecast to remain cloudy, with another high around 26 C.
Despite the clouds and occasional shower chances, temperatures are generally running a little warmer than the seasonal normals for Toronto, which are around 24 C for the daytime high and 15 C overnight.
And while September is just around the corner, summer itself is far from over. Astronomical summer continues until Sept. 22, so there’s still plenty of time for patios, beaches, festivals and all those other warm-weather Toronto rituals.
