Toronto weather forecast: Heat and humidity to give way to rain later this week

The weather is expected to shift on Thursday as precipitation moves into southern Ontario. Environment Canada is forecasting increasing cloud cover along with showers, signalling the end of the week’s sunny stretch.

Rain is expected to linger through Friday and could extend into the weekend, although forecast details may change as the system develops.

The unsettled weather could affect several outdoor events and weekend plans, including the return of Taste of the Danforth, which is back after a two-year hiatus.

Festival-goers may want to keep an umbrella or rain jacket handy as organizers and attendees monitor the forecast heading into the weekend.

While the rain won’t necessarily be continuous, periods of showers and cloudy skies are expected to make for a much different finish to the week compared with its hot and sunny start.
