The Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) is investigating after a video circulating online shows a teenager setting off fireworks inside one of its buses Tuesday night.

In a post by social media platform 6ixBuzzTV, a teenage boy can be seen smiling before lighting a firework pointed towards the back of a TTC bus.

The viral 22-second video was posted just after 6 p.m. last night with the caption “Meanwhile on the TTC…”

After flaring the explosive, riders on the crowded bus were screaming in fear, ducking their heads and lowering themselves for cover. The bus then became engulfed in smoke and flickers. Afterwards, the teen and his friends are seen fleeing the bus through the side door.

In response to the video, the TTC says it is aware of a couple of recent incidents of fireworks being set off on TTC buses in Scarborough.

“They’re being looked into and those responsible will be held accountable. Fortunately there were no serious injuries and there’s plenty of video available to assist investigators,” the transit agency said in a tweet posted on Wednesday.

Now Toronto reached out to Toronto police who said they are aware of the video and are investigating.
