Joyce Wieland Part of Paradise Now, a series of shows looking at the local art scene in the 80s happening in association with MOCCA’s This Is Paradise, Intervening The Frame contains two programs of short films by iconic Canadian feminist artist Wieland. Curator Guillermina Buzio talks with Su Rynard at today’s opening reception at WARC. See listing.

Bus tours Two bus tours hit suburban art spots on Sunday. One leaves from OCADU at noon for AGYU’s Humberto Vélez show, Aesthetics Of Collaboration, with documents of his inclusive performances, and the Gendai Gallery’s Haida Manga Reading Room, Michael Nicoll Yahgulanaas’s political mashup of Northwest Coast and Japanese styles, and Comic Jam Studio, Joanne Hui’s exploration of identity, both closing today. Another meets at 1 pm at Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, where it takes in Kevin Schmidt’s videos and installations, then heads to Oakville Galleries for the reception of a show of artists on the Ontario long list for the Sobey Art Award, including Gareth Long and Derek Sullivan (who do a performance) and Young & Giroux.
