Looking Back, Moving Forward: War Resisters in North America This conference is hosted by several peace orgs from the Canadian Peace Alliance, to the CAW, to Christian Peacemaker Teams. Canadian Art Gallery Hop The glossy national art magazine holds a panel discussion at the Lightbox with artists Sarah Anne Johnson, Jed Lind and An Te Liu at 11 am and curator/artist/critic tours of gallery hubs at King and Tecumseth, Queen West, Dundas and Dovercourt, Bloor and Lansdowne, Ossington, 401 Richmond, the Distillery District and elsewhere starting at starting at 1 pm. FEAST microfunder Artists and designers present project proposals and attendees get to vote on which one will receive a grant from the money raised from ticket sales for the evening, which includes a locally sourced vegetarian dinner and drinks. At Xpace. See listing.

ARTbus A bus tour picks you up and drops you off at Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, where it takes in How Near Is Far: Models For Taking Part, a show of international video. It then hits U of T Mississauga’s Blackwood Gallery for Viva Voce, a celebration of 40 years of the university’s art and art history program with work by alumni, and Oakville Galleries for solo shows at its two locations by painter Denyse Thomasos and installation artist Marla Hlady, who’ll both be on hand.
