What we’re doing tonight: Tues. June 10

Music:

If you don’t know who Tanya Tagaq is now, you will soon. Fresh off the release of her acclaimed album Animism, Tagaq is sharing the stage tonight with the legendary Buffy Sainte-Marie, where she’ll perform her version of the controversial documentary Nanook of the North.

See listing.

Film:

If you don’t have red hair, you likely have friends with red hair who have talked about being treated differently for said hair. I even have a friend who joined some kind of red hair club in Montreal to try to understand why so-called “gingers” are stigmatized. When director Scott P. Harris went to school in Edinburgh, he made a film about it, and it looks like that nice combination of funny and touching.

See our review here, and the listings. If you don’t see the film, hug a ginger today.
