Politics:
Tonight at 6:30 pm, we have all hands on deck live-tweeting the Ontario election debate. Join editor/publisher Michael Hollett, senior news editor Enzo DiMatteo, senior entertainment editor Susan G. Cole and City Hall reporter Jonathan Goldsbie for their commentary on what we expect to be a gas plant bloodbath and a “we-can’t-afford-anything” onslaught from the progressives and conservatives, respectively.
If you haven’t seen our interactive election maps yet, you should check them out. Our news reporters dug up some funny/weird/interesting factoids about each candidate, such as “Khalid Ahmed’s official candidate bio is uncommonly upfront: ‘Lived in the Don Valley West riding for 12 years, currently lives in Pickering.’ A student and ‘aspiring criminologist,’ he’s taking his second go for the NDP, having finished a distant third in the 2011 race. He was 19 at the time.”
Music:
Sean Lennon is in a band with his extremely good-looking 26-year-old girlfriend Charlotte Kemp Muhl. We like their new record, even if it’s not groundbreaking, because it seems the most Beatles-y Lennon’s ever gotten. The band, somewhat unfortunately called Ghost of a Saber Tooth Tiger (or GOASTT, if that makes it any easier for you. For me, it doesn’t), plays tonight at the Hoxton. See listing.
Film:
Tonight is the last night you can catch the Missing Picture, a documentary about living under the Khmer Rouge regime, all told through found footage and clay figurines. See our review here.
