Coors Seltzer launches the easiest and most refreshing ‘volunteer’ program in time for April 22

Knowing the Earth and green initiatives are top-of-mind for many Canadians this week, many are looking for ways to give back. On April 22nd, doing your part is as simple as turning your camera off for Zoom meetings, skipping your daily shower and sipping on a refreshing hard seltzer.

In order to stay safe during the pandemic, many of us put our regular volunteer efforts on hold. Thankfully, the Canadian beverage company has created the perfect opportunity for folks to help a worthwhile cause from the comfort of their own home.

Every 12-pack of Coors Seltzer sold helps restore 1,000 litres of Canada’s waters through a partnership with Change the Course. The non-profit brings organizations and the public together to raise awareness about reducing water footprints and the importance of fresh water.

To make a difference, simply crack open a cold can of Coors Seltzer,  embrace messy hair and stay cozy in your pajamas.

The beverage comes in four different thirst-quenching flavours: Black Cherry, Mango, Grapefruit and Lemon Lime. Packs of the hard seltzer are available at your local liquor store.

“Coors Seltzer is a hard seltzer rooted in a mission to give back to our Earth and protecting Canada’s waters is at the forefront of the brand,” says Ava Gladman, brand manager at Coors Seltzer. “Molson Coors and the Coors family of brands have a long history of environmental sustainability. Ranging from our water conservation efforts to our invention of a recyclable aluminum can. Now, we are proud to deliver a brand new product that has been thoughtfully created to give back to the planet.”

Participants who take the volunteer pledge via Coors Light Canada’s Instagram will receive a special gift to cheers with. All you need to do is share one of the volunteer pledge posts on your Instagram story, tagging @CoorsLightCanada and using the hashtag #CoorsSeltzerVolunteer.

Each year, millions of Canadians celebrate the Earth, and view April 22 as an annual reminder to treat the precious environment with respect. Without an abundance of drinkable water, it would be impossible for humans or animals to live on our planet.

Together with Change the Course, Coors Seltzer is funding a wide range of important restoration projects across four provinces. By the end of the first year, more than two billion total litres of Canada’s waters will be restored. The funds donated to Change the Course by Coors Seltzer will go toward projects that reduce droughts, improve water quality, reduce pollution and more.

“Access to high-quality water is critical to our business,” says Gladman. “Water is the number one ingredient in all of our products. Beyond that, clean lakes and waterways are an essential part of maintaining healthy communities and wildlife.”

Water conservation and combating climate change has always been top-of-mind for the popular Canadian beverage company. As one of the world’s largest brewers, Molson Coors feels a responsibility to help shape a sustainable future for everyone.

“The United Nations launched a set of 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2015. These goals outline the actions required by society to tackle poverty, inequality and climate change, among other issues, by 2030,” she says. “To contribute toward these global goals, we developed Our Imprint strategy, which lays out the social and environmental goals that our company hopes to achieve by 2025. Our goals focus on three main areas, including Responsibly Refreshing, Sustainably Brewing and Collectively Crafted. The three areas of focus provide us with a framework to support the SDGs.”

For those wanting to take their green initiatives a step further, consider planting a tree, avoid using the car or eat vegetarian meals for the entire day.

On Thursday, April 22, remember to power off your camera, forgo your daily shower and participate in this super easy ‘volunteer’ program.
