A self-employed Brampton man is in shock after winning the lottery twice in less than a month. Ryaan Othman first won $180,000 with Lotto Max on Dec. 28, 2022.

On Jan. 17, Othman won $1 million after matching all seven Encore numbers in exact order in the Lotto Max draw, and won an additional $7 on other Encore selections. This brings his total lotto earnings to $1,180,007.

“I checked my ticket on the OLG App and my jaw dropped,” he said in a statement. “I was speechless for at least three minutes. I knew the odds of this happening were slim, but for it to happen twice is out of this world!”

Othman plans to invest and do some travelling with his lottery winnings.

The winning ticket he bought in January was purchased at a Petro Canada gas station on Main Street in Brampton.
